Classic 1960s/70s European Pattern Military Watch – Olive Drab (Matching Strap)
MWC's original watches in this range were the 12/24-hour dial format U.S. pattern watches, which are still in production today. These watches remain virtually identical in appearance to those used by American troops during the Vietnam War in the 1960s and early 1970s.
The European Pattern variants were introduced following frequent inquiries from dealers and customers who requested a similar model to the U.S. watches but with a UK NATO-style dial. As a result, MWC developed a British dial design based on early 1970s models. These watches retain the plexiglass acrylic crystal, as this was commonly used in both American and UK military watches in the 1960s and 1970s.
Although these modern watches resemble the 1960s version, the original models were made of plastic, as they were intended to be disposable by the U.S. military. To address this, the MWC design team reimagined the watch around 15 years ago. While maintaining the original appearance, weight, and feel, they upgraded to an all-metal construction, improving durability and overall quality while preserving the vintage aesthetic.
